IC59267: CUSTOMER NEEDS ABILITY NOT TO HAVE HOD INSERT/REMOVE FORM FEED AT THE END OF JOB ON SCS PRINTER SESSION IN PDT MODE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer has two kind of print jobs.
  The one sends form feed at the last byte of job. (JOB1)
  The other does not send any form feed.(JOB2)
  JOB1  ->xxxxxxxxx150C
        -> Print-EOJ

  JOB2  ->xxxxxxxxx15
        -> Print-EOJ
  .
  Customer wants to perform form feed as Host data.
    - print a JOB1 per page
    - print multiple JOB2s per page
  However, HOD inserts form feed at the end of job by default
  on JOB2.
  If add the PDT keyword FORM_FEED_AT_END_OF_JOB?=NONE,
  then JOB2 works as customer expects however HOD removes
  the last form feed that sent from host on JOB1.
  So there is no way to print as suggeted in host data.

  Customer wants to print these jobs using single PDT.
  .
  NOTE: These jobs were working on Pcom 4.1/4.2.
        The current Pcom removes the last form feed by default.
        User needs to add .ws keyword RemoveLastFF=N if need
        the behavior of Pcom 4.2 or former.

  Host On-Demand suppresses the form feed at the end of a
  job by default in 3270 printer session and users have no way
  to remove the form feed that is sent from the host.
  

Problem conclusion

• Host On-Demand suppresses form feed when it is at the end of a
  printing job. This is current design of Host On-Demand. A
  new value of "FORM_FEED_AT_END_OF_JOB?=HOST has been added.
  If you specify this parameter with a value of "HOST", Host On-
  Demand will not suppress the form feed at the end of the job,
  and no additional form feed will be inserted at the end of the
  job.
