IC55675: ANR8984E ERROR GENERATED WHEN TSM SERVER ACCESSES LTO4 OR 3592 (GEN 2) TAPE DRIVES THAT DO NOT SUPPORT ENCRYPTION

Error description

• When a tape drive with a device type of LTO4 or 3592 (Gen 2) is
  defined to the TSM Server, the Server will attempt to query the
  encryption status of these devices anytime a mount operation is
  performed, regardless as to whether or not drive encryption is
  enabled within the TSM device class.  If the tape drives do not
  support encryption (eg. older version of drive firmware that
  does not support encryption) the encryption status ioctl issued
  by the TSM Server will fail with an I/O error and the following
  error will be written to the activity log:

     ANR8984E The drive LTO4 (/dev/IBMtape0) in library TAPELIB is
     incapable of performing any drive encryption operations.

     (/dev/IBMtape0) in library TAPELIB is incapable of performing
     any drive encryption operations.~
     pvrntp.c(6619)[WriteLabelBlocks]:SetLabelEncryptKey finished
     with rc = 1.

  The ANR8984E error will be generated anytime an attempt is made
  to access the tape drive, thus making the drive inaccessible to
  the TSM Server.
