Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All TSM v5.1.X and 5.2.X servers * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: See ERROR DESCRIPTION * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The user is not able to return a library to "" in a devclass of type file.
Problem conclusion
Under some circumstances, a customer may want to set the library to something in a devclass with a devtype of "FILE". If the customer set the library of that devclass it was not possible to remove that library value by issuing something like UPDATE DEVCLASS <devclas name> library="". Now the server and storage agent will allow the customer to remove the library value for any devclass with a devtype of "FILE" with the UPDATE DEVCLASS command.
