Error description

  • TSM logs an incorrect error message ANR1229W when it encounters
a time out error on a drive while trying to mount a volume for
    access.
Once the error completes you can confirm the volume is not
    'destroyed' by issuing a q volume f=d.

    ****************************************************************
ANR1229W is issued indicating that the volume is offsite,
unavailable or destroyed when volume does not match these
possibilities. The volume may not have been mountable due
to a drive / library time out, or the volume may be in use
by another process or session, such as through a LanFree
    Storage Agent.

Problem conclusion

  • Message text for ANR1229 has been updated to indicate the
other possibilities for a volume being unavailable.
