Error description

  • Steps to Reproduce Scenario:
    1. Open CATProduct.
    2. On Visual Basic Editor, set ???select_cnt =
    selection1.Count2??? in ???Sample_Module1??? as Break Point and
    close the editor.
    3. Goto tools->Macro-Macros and click on Run to run the
    script so that the breakpoint is hit(editor opens up and
    shows the hit breakpoint).
    4. Wait for 5-10 minutes and click on run to resume the
    execution.
    Result: Error Occurs ??? Run-time error
    ???-2147417856(80010100)???: Automation error
    Expected Result: Error does not occur when using Break Point
    in Macro.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA V5
    Additional Closure Information:
    Incident Diagnosis:
    Error occurs when using a breakpoint in Macro.
    Reason:
    After a while, the windows message loop is full and CATIA is
    no more responsive for COM communications.
    By-Pass:
    set the CATIA.RefreshDisplay property to True
