Description: Operation Profile Contouring, Tool path style Helix is computed with Machining tolerance 0.02mm. The real tolerance is 0.44mm. Scenario: 1. File -> Open-> Process1.CATProcess 2. Check the Machine Editor, only 3D linear interpolation is sel ected. 3. Check the Profile Contouring.1 operation Tool path style: Helix Machining tolerance: 0.02mm Compensation output: 2D radial profile 4. Replay the tool path. Actual result: APT output is white polyline, because of Compensation output: 2D radial profile. The yellow points are points from APT output. T he machining tolerance 0.02mm is not respected on the helix port ion of tool path. The real tolerance is 0.44mm. This is the erro r. Expected result: Compare point distribution on circular tool path and point distr ibution on helix tool path. The point distribution should be the same.

Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED ON V5R20 SP7, V5R21 SP2 AND V5R22 GA Additional Closure Information: Technical explanation of the defect: Distribution points on profile data do not respect the machining tolerance. Technical explanation of the correction: Tolerance is only taken into account for the tool tip machining traject but not for the profile data.
