Error description

  • Scenario:
    Problem is data specific.
    1)Go to Tools/Options/Compatibility/ Step/ Export.
    2) set the Application Protocol (AP) to ISO 214 and Assemblies t
    o "One Step File"..
    3)Open specific CATproduct,
    4)Save it as stp.
    Problem:
    CATIA hangs. Process do not complete.
    Expected Result:
    Process should complete successfully.stp file should be created.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON CATIA VERSION V5R22 GA level.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R21 SP2.

    Incident Diagnosis:
    CATIA hangs while save as STEP file.
    Technical explanation of the defect:
    The export is very slow due to the group attribute management
    despite there are no selection sets in the customer data.
    Technical explanation of the correction:
    The correction consists in skipping the group attributes
    management when there are no selection sets in the data to
    export.
    Correction Restriction:
    It does not work if  a selection set is added.
