HE08159: SWI : SOLIDWORKS CRASHES AFTER CI FROM A SUB-ASM AND EXPANDING T HE DMT

Error description

  • Customer Scenario:- (Please go through the Preparation Steps
    to reproduce this issue)
    1) Clear the Work directory
    2) Open the Assembly T158280 Rev E.00 (Checked In) as
    Read-Only via context menu / Open For... / Open as read-only,
    select the Configuration "Mal open" and OK
    3) In SolidWorks Fk "File / Make Assembly from Assembly" and
    place the Object
    4) In the new RootAssembly, select the 'ConfigurationManager'
    and select the 'Default' configuration with the context menu
    / Add Derived Configuration...
    . - Create a Derived configuration named "test"
    5) In SolidWorks Fk "Insert / Component / Existing
    Part/Assembly...
    . - Select Browse...
    . - Search for the Assembly T1200697 (T1200223) and select OK
    to place it in the RootAssembly
    6) Insert the same Assembly T1200697 (T1200223) again to the
    RootAssembly
    7) Select the DMT
    8) Perform a SmarTeam / Save Operation
    -> During the save operation, SmarTeam tries to save the
    ReadOnly Asm T158280. Select Cancel to not save the assembly.
    9) Close the SmarTeam ProfileCard
    10) In the DMT, select the SubAssembly T158280 with the
    context menu / Open T158280.sldasm
    11) In this SubAssembly T158280, select the
    'ConfigurationManager' and double click the "Default [
    T158280 ]" Configuration to activate this Configuration.
    12) Select again the DMT and perfrom a CheckOut on the
    SubAssembly T158280 via context Menu / Check Out => Rebuild
    message appears ? click to YES
    13) Tile the Window horizontally via Fk Window / Tile
    Horizontally
    14) In the window with the new RootAssembly, select the
    'FeatureManager design tree'
    . - Select the SubAssembly T158280 with the context menu /
    Component Properties
    . . - Select the configuration "middenstand" and OK
    15) In the window with the SubAssembly T158280, select the
    Assembly T158280 with the context menu / Check In
    16) In the new RootAssembly, select the DMT
    17) Select the + (Plus-Sign) in front of the Assembly T158280
    Current Result- => SolidWorks crashes with no additional
    information or error message
    Expected Result :- Crash should not appear

Problem conclusion

  • NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R20 SP7.
    Additional Closure Information:
    Issue is fixed with SmarTeam V5R20 SP7
