  • ABSTRACT: Feature driven pattern crashes SolidWorks on Win7 OS
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Copy the contents of the "For Azeem!" folder contained in
the attached "For_Azeem_.rar" file into the SmarTeam Work
    folder.
    2. Launch SolidWorks and login to SmarTeam when prompted.
    3. Perform a File -> Open to open the "Part with Pattern"
SolidWorks Assembly found in the SmarTeam Work folder.
    4. Select Insert -> Component Pattern... -> Feature Driven...
    5. Click on the Components to Pattern field in the Feature
Driven toolbar on the left. Then click on the Plank found in
    the assembly.
    6. Click on the Driving Feature field in the Feature Driven

    7. Click in the Support Frame again.

    allignment with the holes therein.
    8. Click on the green check mark to complete replication of
the Feature Driven Pattern across the Assembly.
    ==> SolidWorks Crashed
    NOTES:
    1. The environment is V5R20 SP5 + SW 2011 3.0 -64bit on Win 7
    64-bit O/S.
    2. Refer to the movie of the scenario in the attachemnt file
"capture-1.avi" found in the attached ZIP file
    "For_Azeem_.rar".
    3. With V5R20SP4 + SW Premium 2011 SP2.0 -64bit on XP Pro x64
V2003 SP2, the Feature driven pattern does replicate across
the Assembly (see attachment file "Correct Results.jpg"), but
then the OS slows to a crawl, virtually to the point of being
hung up. This is also a problem...
    4. Refer to BR10000103967 -- SWI : Solidworks 2010 crashes
with Smarteam V5R20SP5 when using the Feature Driven
    Component Pattern in SolidWorks
    .
RESULT:- Solidworks Crashes. This problem doesn't occur with
standalone Solidworks., it occurs only with SmarTeam
    Integration.
