HE05367: IMPOSSIBLE TO CREATE AN ISOMETRIC VIEW IN A DRAWING FROM MODEL F ILE

Error description

• Scenario:
  1. Open the V4 .model file in V5.
  2. Open a new drawing and select create isometric view.
  3. Without zooming or panning click on the model to create an
  isometric view of the object.
  Problem:
  The isometric view is not generated. An error crops up.
  Expected Result:
  The isometric view should be generated without any errors.

• THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA.
  Additional Closure Information:
  Incident Diagnosis:
  Drawing view generation applied on a V4 model failed on
  specific points of view in Exact mode.
  
  Technical Reason:
  The V4 model is locally invalid. There are 2 faces without
  closed boundary.
  We can see from the topological area that the visualization
  of the body is not complete.
  This view generation requires silhouette computation, which
  is crossing the topological area in the isometric view.
  This is the reason why an error is seen in the exact mode for
  the isometric view.
  In approximate mode, the bad faces are ignored because of the
  visualisation issue, so there is no error detected.
  By-Pass:
  CopyPaste the V4model as Result in a new CATPart file; the
  Import V4 to V5 removes the topology and fixes the model. So,
  all the views can be generated.
  If the user wants to work with V4 data, it is possible to do
  so using the approximate mode.
