Error description

  • SCENARIO:
In a specific CATPart, it is not possible to create User
    Pattern of Cutout feature.
    Update error appear as
    "User pattern
An error occurred during the build of folded pattern.
Check that each instance of the pattern completely lies on a
single and planar support." -This is the problem.
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    User Pattern should be possible.

Problem conclusion

  • THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE ANOTHER SYMPTOM OF THE
PROBLEM REPORTED IN APAR HD81737 OR THE ANSWER MADE FOR THIS
DUPLICATE APAR APPLIES ALSO TO THE CURRENT PROBLEM.
    Additional Closure Information:
    .
    INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS:
The support of the pattern (which is wall) is not the same as
the support of the item to pattern (which is cutout as Cutout
lies on the stamp). Both supports are not in the same plane.
After pattern, the instances of the pattern (i.e. cutout
instances ) are expected to lie on the wall. however as both
supports are not in the same plane, pattern of cutout is not
possible and error message appear. In the BR CATPart, the
preview shows that the instances of pattern are not correctly
    shown on plane of Wall.
    .
    CORRECTION EXPLANATION:
Since R20GA level, the behavior of pattern of Cutouts is
changed by BR10000066878 and now it gives more stable
results. Now the new algorithm enables the pattern only if
the instances are on the same plane as the item to pattern
    (Cutout)
User will have to follow below steps to get user pattern of
    cutout on wall surface.
    Methodology:
    1. Create Cutout feature on wall
    2. Create Pattern of cutout feature
    3. Then Create Stamp feature
