Failed to authenticate PEA data (-10153) with IBM Infosphere Guardium installed using v9.0p150 iso image

Troubleshooting


Problem

Data Archive or System Backup to Centera fails with error "Failed to authenticate PEA data (-10153)" if IBM Infosphere Guardium was installed using a v9.0p150 iso image from Passport Advantage which was posted prior to April 2014. This document discusses a defect in the v9.0p150 ISO image in Passport Advantage as of April-2014 that affects archive and backup functionality to Centera.

Symptom

You see error similar to the one below in the Aggregation/Archive Log:


File guard_filetransfer.pl in the guard directory on the appliance logs the following messages:

      guard_filetransfer.pl: get transfer method = CENTERA
      <Timestamp>
      guard_filetransfer.pl:retention 1814400.
      guard_filetransfer.pl: Starting file transfer.
      guard_filetransfer.pl: b
      <Timestamp>-<hostname>-SQLGUARD_CONFIG-9.0.tgz.
      guard_filetransfer.pl:CENTERA:Centera SDK Error: Failed to authenticate PEA
      data(-10153)
      guard_filetransfer.pl: File transfer ended 22272.
