Error description

  • Summary:
    CAT_VBO_ALLOWED Variable causes crash when running catvba script
    User problem:
    User cannot take advantage of the variable that speeds up graphi
    cs
    If they do, then this causes a crash when using certain vba scri
    pts
    Scenario:
    1. Make sure you have the environment variable CAT_VBO_ALLOWED=1
     set and Example_DT.xls held in the same directory as EXAMPLE.CA
    TAnalysis and EXAMPLE PART.CATPart
    2. Open EXAMPLE.CATAnalysis
    3. Run the script (CFD.catvba > RunFormDOE)
    4. Select the icon ???Run through DEO??? - May need to do this 3
    -4 times
    5. CATIA crashes
    Problem occurs on Windows 64bits machine with ATI FirePro V5800
    (Driver 8.702.0.0) Graphics card.

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON VERSION V5R21 GA level.
    NOTE THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL ALSO BE FIXED ON V5R20 SP6.

    Conflict between VBO and Hyperthreading leading to a crash or
    a freeze.
    .
     By-pass:
    Do not activated VBO
