Problem summary
SCENARIO: Display result of Isophotes analysis is incorrect on the specific surface. EXPECTED RESULT: Display result of Isophotes analysis should be correct on the specific surface.
Problem conclusion
THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA Additional Closure Information: . INCIDENT DIAGNOSIS: The old Isophote mapping analysis command shows discontinuity on specific surface which has long and very thin triangles. . RESTRICTION EXPLANATION: The old Isophote mapping analysis command is based on classic shading process which uses linear interpolation method. The results are computed between two vertices of triangle to process the color results. However this method does not give good result whenever there is long and thin triangles (tessellation) because the results are linearly interpolated. As the length of triangle increases, interpolation also increases which results in high approximation. This problem has been solved in new command using OpenGL Shader mode in which results are computed on each pixel and not on each vertex and hence it gives more precise results on long and thin triangles . However it is not possible to implement OpenGL Shader mode in the old Isophote analysis command because architecture is completely different compared to new command and graphic material is managed is differently in old command. Therefore it is recommended to activate Enable OpenGL Shader option(Tools / Option / General / Display / Performance ) and Use new Isophote mapping Analysis command. . By-pass: None
