Error description

  • Scenario:
    1. Open CATIA V5
    2. Open a CATProduct with two parts (a pad with a hole and a
    cylinder).
Let`s consider a lower face of the cylinder and an upper
face of the pad (both of them normal to the axis of the
cylinder and the hole in the pad)
    3. Click on Fix constraint
    4. Select the Pad
    5. Edit the Pad with the hole
    6. Add two publications: one for the lower face and one for
    the axis
(for the publication of the axis, MB3 on the cylindrical
surface, click on "Other Selection" and then "Axis")
    7. Edit the cylinder
    8. Add two publications: one for one face and one for the
    axis
(for the publication of the axis, MB3 on the cylindrical
surface, click on "Other Selection" and then "Axis")
    9. Click on Offset Constraint
    10. Select the lower face of the cylinder and the upper one
    of the Pad
    11. Change Offset value to 0mm
    12. Click on Coincidence constraint
    13. Move the mouse on the side face of the cylinder > the
axis is highlighted > click on MB1 for selection
    14. Move the mouse on the side face of the hole in the Pad >
the axis is highlighted > click on MB1 for selection
    15. Click on the Update icon
Result: the constraints are correctly created.
    15. Delete the created constraints
    16. Activate Tools > Settings > Mechanical Design > Assembly
Dessign > Constraints > Constraint creation > Use published
    geometry of any level
    17. Click on Offset Constraint
    18. Select the lower face of the cylinder and the upper one
    of the Pad
    19. Change Offset value to 0mm
    20. Click on Coincidence constraint
    21. Move the mouse on the side face of either the cylinder or
    the hole
==> ERROR: it cannot be selected. A forbidden symbol is
    displayed.
    .
Expected behaviour: the Coincidence constraint can be created
    selected the published axis.
    .
