Error description

  • Process:

    0) Start CATIA.
    1) Open CATPart" in "Generative Shape Design" wb.
    2) Click "Extremum" icon. "Extremum Definition" dialog box is di
    splayed.
    3) Select one Curve as Element.

    4) Click "Direction:" on the cell by MB3.

    5) Select "X Component" by context menu. (Please confirm that "M
    ax" is selected as "Direction:".)
    6) Click "OK". "Extremum" was 1 point. But, "Max" option is not
working. The position of a point does not change by "Max" or "Mi
    nimum". This is the problem.
    .
    Result to expect:

"Extremum" of the max X direction should be created in the one s
ide end of curve if the curve has length in the X directions. Ma
x and Min options should work as desired.

    .
    Result to expect:

"Extremum" of the max X direction should be created in the
one side end of curve if the curve has length in the X

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA
    Additional Closure Information:
    Incident Diagnosis:
The same point is solution for min and max extremum.
    .
    Correct Application:
It is the correct point and a correct solution. The distance
between one extremity and yz plane is 0.000887mm and the
other one is 0.00000. So all the point of the curve can be
solution for the 2 options (min and max) As the distance
is under the resolution of CATIA.
    .
