  • SCENARIO:
    1Create a Guide1, Guide2, Profile1, PT1 and PT2 elements
    
    2. Create Sweep
    
    1) Click Sweep Icon
    
    2) Select Explicit as Profile type
    
    3) Select With two guide curves as Subtype
    
    4) Select Profile as Profile
    
    5) Select Guide2 as Guide curve 1
    
     6) Select Guide1 as Guide curve 2
    
    7) Click OK Button

    PROBLEM:
    Surface is not created along Guide1.
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Surface should be created along Guide1.

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION IN CATIA.
    Additional Closure Information:
    Incident Diagnosis:
    The sweep does not follow the second guide.
    .
    Reason:
    If you do not explicitly select anchor points or anchor
    direction, they are automatically computed if the profile is
    planar.
    The anchor points are computed as follows:
    for Anchor point 1: intersection between the profile plane
    and first Guide curve.
    for Anchor point 2: intersection between the plane, passing
    through first Anchor point and normal to the spine, with
    second Guide curve.
    In this case, the sweep cannot follow the second guide. It is
    mathematically impossible because the profile is not in the
    spine plane.
