APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The Coordinate probing X, Y, and Z postion using the
    Multi-Points Probing MO is displayed in Metric units, although
    model data is Inches.
    Scenario:
    1- File / Open the CATProcess
    file
    2- Ensure V5 Units are set to Inches in Tools / Options /
    Parameters and Measure / Units tab : Length = Inches
    3- Expand
    the process tree to display the machining operations.
    4-
    Select the probing Tool Change in the tree
    5- Select
    'Multi-Point Probing for the toolpath type' icon
    Note that a
    Multi-Points Probing entity has been added to the program
    6-
    Click the red area in the sensitive icon and select the part
    in the viewer.
    Then double-click anywhere in the viewer to
    confirm your selection and redisplay the dialog box
    7- Select
    the Red Points icon
    8- Double click in an empty space to end
    selection
    9- Visually Inspect the resultant generated point
    coordinates in the Number/Coordinate/Position window
    Result
    :
    The Coordinate Position of the indicated points is displayed
    in Metric Units
    Expected Result:
    Since the Units in the
    Tools/Options is set to Inches, the Coordinate position of
    indicated points will be in Inch Units

Problem summary
