Error description

  • ABSTRACT:
    DMUSPA: When we do "Invert Normal" to section plane, the
    result does not change.
    .
    SCENARIO:
    1. Start CATIA V5R18SP5 & go to Tools / Options / Digital
    Mockup / DMU Space Analysis / DMU Sectioning / Section Planes
    / Normal : X.
    2. Open the file : "TEST.CATProduct". Workbench :"DMU Space
    Analysis".
    3. Click "Sectioning" icon. "Sectioning Definition" dialog box
    is displayed. The "Section Plane" is created on the "yz
    plane". And "Section.1" window is displayed.
    4. Select "Positioning" tab in the "Sectioning Definition".
    Changed into "Positioning" tab.
    5. Select "Invert Normal" in the "Sectioning Definition". The
    "Section Plane" is reversed.
    6. Observe the results in "Section.1" window.
    .
    RESULT:
    The display of the "Section.1" window is not reversed.
    Direction of the "Section.1" window does not follow  change
    of direction of the "Section Plane".
    .
    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Direction of the Section window should follow change of directi
    on of the Section Plane.

    3. Click "Sectioning" icon. "Sectioning Definition"
    dialog box is displayed. The "Section Plane" is created on the
    "yz plane". And "Section.1" window is displayed.
    4. Select
    "Positioning" tab in the "Sectioning Definition". Changed into
    "Positioning" tab.
    5. Select "Invert Normal" in the
    "Sectioning Definition". The "Section Plane" is reversed.
    6.
    Observe the results in "Section.1" window.

    RESULT:
    The
    display of the "Section.1" window is not reversed. Direction
    of the "Section.1" window does not follow  change of direction
    of the "Section Plane".

    EXPECTED RESULT:
    Direction of the
    Section window should follow change of direction of the
    Section Plane.
    

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED ON   VERSION V5R20 GA
    level.
    Additional Closure Information:
    Incident
    Diagnosis:
    When we do "Invert Normal" to section plane, the
    result does not change.
    Correction Explanations:
    On doing
    invert normal, only the plane axes were getting updated in 3D
    viewer & not the section 2D Viewer. Now this behavior is
    corrected.
