APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • One case where this problem was seen is this:
    * DHCP is enabled on an interface with no DHCP server
    * while the interface is sending DHCP requests, reconfigure it
    to no DHCP and attempt to save.
    This might cause a watchdog restart.
    

Local fix

  • Do not configure interfaces for DHCP unless your DHCP server is
    reliable.
    

Problem summary

  • Affected are DataPower configurations with network interfaces
    set to dynamic IP address via DHCP.
    
    If the DHCP server is not responsive, the appliance might
    restart with a watchdog.
