APAR status

  • Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

  • If DNS is not configured on an SRA host,  there is a possibility
that the SRA hostname is not detected and therefore an empty
SRA name is displayed in the TPC Legacy GUI.


RECREATE STEPS:
Install SRA on host with no DNS

Local fix

  • Apply fixpack when available.
If not,  call IBM support for patch.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:  TPC 4.2.x users with Storage Resource Agents

Problem Description: SRA name not displayed in TPC GUI when DNS
not configured.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem will not be fixed in a TPC 4.2.2 fix pack.  Contact
IBM support if you require a patch.  It is planned to be fixed
in TPC 5.1.x and is tracked with APAR IC94564 there.
