Problem conclusion

  • Starting with the server fixing levels, the SETOPT command is
enhanced to support the ALLOWREORGTABLE and ALLOWREORGINDEX
server options. This means that all reorganization server
    options (ALLOWREORGTABLE, ALLOWREORGINDEX, REORGDURATION, and
REORGBEGINTIME) can be modified while the server is running.

Setting these options has no effect on currently running
reorganization operations. If an index reorganization is in
progress, and the server command SETOPT ALLOWREORGINDEX NO is
run, that index reorganization continues until completion.
But after that operation is completed, no further index
reorganizations start until the SETOPT ALLOWREORGINDEX YES
    command is run.

If a table reorganization is in progress, and the server
command SETOPT ALLOWREORGTABLE NO is run, that table
reorganization either continues until completion or until it
pauses. If it continues until completion, no new table
reorganizations start until the SETOPT ALLOWREORGTABLE YES
command is run. If the current table reorganization pauses,
reorganization of that table does not resume until the
SETOPT ALLOWREORGTABLE YES command is run.

The following sample output was generated by running the
SETOPT commands that will be supported for these two
    server options:

    setopt allowreorgtable yes
    ANR2017I Administrator SERVER_CONSOLE issued command:
    SETOPT allowreorgtable yes
ANR2119I The ALLOWREORGTABLE option has been changed in
    the options file.

    setopt allowreorgtable no
    ANR2017I Administrator SERVER_CONSOLE issued command:
    SETOPT allowreorgtable no
ANR2119I The ALLOWREORGTABLE option has been changed in
    the options file.

    setopt allowreorgindex yes
    ANR2017I Administrator SERVER_CONSOLE issued command:
    SETOPT allowreorgindex yes
ANR2119I The ALLOWREORGINDEX option has been changed in
    the options file.

    setopt allowreorgindex no
    ANR2017I Administrator SERVER_CONSOLE issued command:
    SETOPT allowreorgindex no
ANR2119I The ALLOWREORGINDEX option has been changed
    in the options file.

Affected platforms: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and Windows.
