IC89485: EFS FILES ARE NOT RESTORED IF THE TARGET FILES DO NOT EXIST

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When EFS files are restored and the original files no longer
    exist in the target destination, no files actually get
    restored, even though TSM reports that the files have been
    restored.
    This issue occurs with TSM server levels greater than 6.1.0.0.
    Clients restoring with TSM server 6.1.0.0 or lower restore fine.
    This issue is a regression caused by the fix to IC82078.
    

Local fix

  • Do not delete target files before restoring their backup copies.
