IC88716: INCORRECT WTX UTF-8 CONVERSION FROM XML TO FLAT FILE

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When attempting a WTX xml-to-flat file conversion, the UTF-8
  conversion is incorrect.
  
  For example, if the value "Évangeline" is in the input
  data, the expected output is "ﾐvangeline" with the accent on the
  E.  This conversion is not occurring.
  
  The expected text is "ﾐvangeline" with the correct character
  UTF-8 encoded to C3 89 (hex).
  
  This problem is present for any extended character if
  it is at the first position inside the node.  For example,
  <xml>&#65410;vangeline</xml> is converted to flat text
  "&#233;vangeline" while the expected text is "&#65410;vangeline".
  
  If there a second extended character (with an accent), the
  problem is not present.  For example, <xml>&#65424;vang&#65410;line</xml> is
  correctly converted to "&#65424;vang&#65410;line".
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Customers using WTX transform binary action to transform
  XML
  containing escaped characters like "É" are affected. The
  characters
  will not be converted to correct characters in the output data.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fix is available in  4.0.1.16, 4.0.2.12 and 5.0.0.6
