IC88113: SOME IBM PUREAPPLICATION SYSTEM USERS CAN NOT LOGIN AFTER UPGRADING TO FIXPACK 2

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After upgrading to IPAS FP2 some users received an error
    attempting to login to the System Console:
    "Your user name or password is invalid."
    

Local fix

  • Clear session cookies from the user's browser. On the user's
    browser window Ctrl-Shift-Delete (on Firefox expand the Details
    section) and clear the cookies.
    

Problem summary

  • The login problem reported by some users was related to the way
    the user's session tracking cookie was being managed by the
    browser.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code supporting the single sign on cookie tracking mechanism
    was updated to allow for differences in the supported browsers.
