APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Tested in Notes 8.5.3, English and Polish language in Win XPSP3
English. Caller sees the same behaviour also in Win7-32.


In the Polish language are 9 special characters as described on
this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AltGr_key#Polish

In windows you make them active by installing Polish keyboard
support and then use:

    AltGr+A
    AltGr+C
    AltGr+E
    AltGr+L
    AltGr+N      <-- problem
    AltGr+O      <-- problem
    AltGr+S
    AltGr+X
    AltGr+Z

In Notes you can use and write these characters and when a link
is pasted into a mail this link works ok.  However, if you try
to use Notes as a bowser then the page you open will not accept
two of the nine characters.  A search bar will take the
characters without a problem.

This does not effect the address bar but any text field in a
page opened by the browser.

Local fix

  • You can type the characters in Notes but outside the browser and
then use copy and paste.

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • PMR was closed and customer was provided a solution.
