Troubleshooting
Problem
I have a setup where I send messages from HTTP to a Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPG) service which then PUTs the message to MQ. The backend of the MPG uses an MQ Queue Manager Group which consists of two MQ Queue Managers (primary QM1 and backup QM2). When QM1 is shut down, the next message that comes in fails, triggering the MQ failover but then the failed transaction is lost.
Symptom
When the primary QM (QM1) becomes unavailable, the first request that comes in to trigger the MQ failover gets lost. All subsequent messages that are sent are then routed to the backup QM (QM2).
