IC80614: DATAPOWER DOES NOT RENDER THE DEFAULT VALUE FOR DATATYPE "XSD:DOUBLE" CORRECTLY

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a "xsd:double" datatype is defined with an identified
default in a schema used by DataPower, for example:

<xsd:attribute name="attribute_1" use="optional"
default="123.0">

and a request is sent to the DataPower service using the schema,
triggering a response with the default value for "attribute_1",
the response message may consider an unexpected value.  For
example:

attribute_1="0.0E0"

instead of

attribute_1="123.0".

Local fix

  • Depending on use case, "xsd:float" may be a suitable substitute
in place of "xsd:double".

Problem summary

  • Affected is the use of optional Schema default values of type
"xs:double".

The default value is not honored and 0.0E0 shows up by
default.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix is available in 3.8.2.11, 4.0.1.8 and 4.0.2.4.
