Error description
When you send a JSON file to DataPower which includes a special character such as an ampersand, DataPower rejects it with the error message "implied action convert-http: 'Converting INPUT with map (none) results stored in __JSONASJSONX' failed: Unable to parse JSON and generate JSONx: illegal character ' ' at offset" ... However, characters such as ampersand are not excluded from JSON content
Local fix
Use escaped versions of special characters in JSON input
Problem summary
Customers using services processing JSON message format will no longer get service failure and 'Invalid JSON format' error logged for valid JSON messages containing & or < characters in names or string values.
Problem conclusion
Fix is available in 3.8.2.8, 4.0.1.5 and 4.0.2.1
