IC78011: WMQFTE V7 AGENT ENDS ABNORMALLY AT START WHEN SOURCE DIRECTORY CONTAINS A LARGE NUMBER OF FILES.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When the monitored directory contains a large number of
  files at the start of the monitor the agent ends abnormally.
  BFGDM0082E: The agent has received a reason code of '2024'
  from the QI.  The agent cannot continue processing and will
  now end.
  BFGAG0061E: The agent ended abnormally.
  This is because the underlying MaxUncommittedMsgs queue
  manager property has been exceeded.
  

Local fix

• Increase the MaxUncommittedMsgs on the QM.
  Used the -bs (matches_per_task) parameter when creating the
  monitor to decrease the number of tasks.
  

Problem summary

• The problem is that all the task request messages for the files
  triggered during one poll of a directory resource monitor are
  put to the agent's COMMAND queue in the same transaction.  If
  there are are a large number of files the queue manager's
  MaxUncommittedMsgs can be exceeded which leads to the error.

Problem conclusion

• This APAR introduces a new agent property which may be used to
  tune the maximum number of files triggered within one poll. Any
  files not triggered are deferred to subsequent polls.
  
  The property name is 'monitorMaxResourcesInPoll' and defaults to
  -1, which is unlimited.
