Error description
If search a full-width unicode character by ehllapi "search PS" or "search Field" call on HCP1399/1390 session, the other half-width character is also found. The pattern of the incorrect detection seems to be related to EBCDIC code of the target characters... The chart below is the sample of incorrect detection. . EBCDIC CODE of Target : EBCDIC CODE of character found xD489 ------------------- xD4 (M) x60DA ------------------- X60 (-) x5042 --------------------x50 (&) xB343 -------- RC/24 (Not found) ( Note: This chart is based on HCP1399) .
Local fix
Problem summary
User search some full-width unicode characters on HCP1399/1390 session bu ehllapi application, the other half-width character is found. Ex. If search EBCDIC 0xD489 then 0xD4 is found.
Problem conclusion
The problem is caused by incorrect DBCS character length was returned when identifying some Unicode characters, so that's why double byte host code only has the first byte recognized and cause error.
