Error description
The last files of a restore of a lanfree client are listed as "unavailable" by TSM, when using UFS on Solaris for TSM lanfree volumes. The issue shows up on TSM restore because TSM opens the file read/write, which the UFS MDC was misinterpreting as meaning the file was being created. Therefore the MDC was truncating the file back to 0 and corrupting the TSM backup volume.
Local fix
none - upgrade sanergy mdc to 3.3.6.9 or later for fix.
Problem summary
The Solaris UFS MDC was truncating files that w ere open for write inappropriately. TSM opens the last volume du ring a restore as read-write and the SANergy MDC took the read-w rite to mean truncate the file to 0 and set the size tothe first hyper extension. The effect of the trncation is that TSM report s back data unavailable during the restore. This is fixed in SAN ergy v3.3.6.9 and later.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
