Abstract

Information about the support of TDI 7.1.1 on Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition

TDI 7.1.1 is henceforth supported on Windows 2012 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition . Users need to keep the following points in consideration when using TDI 7.1.1 on Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition.


Only 64bit TDI is supported on Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition (since there is only the 64 bit version of Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 ).


The TDI 7.1.1 installer needs to be executed in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
    1 Right Click on the TDI installer file and select Properties from the Context menu. For eg: Click on <ISO_Image>\windows_x86_64\install_tdiv711_win_x86_64.exe and select Properties
    2 Click on the Compatibility tab.
    3 Under the Compatibility mode section, set the the check box to true for " Run this program in compatibility mode for "
    4 Under the drop down select Windows 7 .
    5 Click on OK to apply the compatibility mode.
    6 Now run the installer and proceed normally.
When uninstalling, the uninstaller.exe should also be executed in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
    1 The uninstaller is placed in the <TDI_Install_dir>\_uninst\uninstaller.exe
    2 Right Click on the unistaller.exe and select Properties from the Context menu.
    3 Click on the Compatibility tab.
    4 Under the Compatibility mode section, set the the check box to true for "Run this program in compatibility mode for "
    5 Under the drop down select Windows 7 .
    6 Click on OK to apply the compatibility mode.
    7 Now run the uninstaller and proceed normally.

If the user does not click on Compatibility mode during install or uninstall, the following error message will be displayed.

This Application has Unexpectedly Quit

Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTarget Excetption. This application will now exit (LAX)
When Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition and Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition is rebooted, the installer log files (tdi_respfile711.txt, tdiv711debug.log and tdiv711install.log) found in the %temp% directory are deleted. Users are recommended to create a backup of these install logs for future reference.


Note : Any TDI problem reported on Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition or Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition will be fixed, only if the same problem can be recreated on any of the other supported Windows platform. Refer the platform support matrix for details on other supported Windows Platform.
