Troubleshooting
Problem
After upgrading the Content Engine and the object stores from release 5.1 to Content Platform Engine release 5.2, a null pointer exception (java.lang.NullPointerException) occurs when content is being full-text indexed with Content Search Services (CSS).
Symptom
Index requests are not being submitted to the CSS servers. Also, when the Content Platform Engine attempts to dispatch index requests for full-text index, a null pointer exception (java.lang.NullPointerException) is observed in the p8_server_error.log and p8_server_trace.log. Please see an example of the exception below:
