Troubleshooting
Problem
It might be necessary to reset the Data Language and National Language type properties in WebSphere® Transformation Extender type trees, and recompile WebSphere Transformation Extender maps that use International Components of Unicode (ICU) character sets after you have done any one of the following activities: - Created a new type tree in the product version listed under Software version - Saved a type tree in this version that was created in an earlier version - Recompiled a map from an earlier version Before you reset the type trees and recompile the maps, you need to first copy the attached typesdbres.dll file to install_dir, which is the path where the product is installed. The attached Affected-ICU-Charactersets.txt document includes a list of the affected ICU character sets that require you to reset the type trees and recompile the maps.
Symptom
When running a WebSphere Transformation Extender map in the product version listed under Software version, or a later version, without resetting the type tree and recompiling the map, if the map uses ICU character sets or code pages, the map might either fail to transform the data or produce unexpected results. The data transformation process might be unable to end or it might end abnormally. It might have input validation failures, or invalid output generation, or output generation failures.
Also, there are symptoms related to the National Language and Data Language type properties. The lists for the National Language and Data Language type properties for the type tree in the Design Studio appear with missing and incorrect values. The default value for the National Language type property, which should be Western, is a different value. Design Studio does not support some of the ICU character sets that are listed in the Data Language type property.
The symptoms appear only when you are using the English version of the product.
