Description: OpenSSL versions prior to 1.0.0 do not follow best security practices and need to be upgraded. For a complete list of OpenSSL Vulnerabilities by version, please refer to:

http://www.openssl.org/news/vulnerabilities.html

ClearCase 8.0.0.5 and 7.1.2.9 have been upgraded to ship with version 1.0.1C OpenSSL.

Prior versions of ClearCase shipped with OpenSSL version 0.9.7e.

On Windows platforms, ClearCase now uses the IBM GSKit component to perform SSL. IBM GSKit includes the OpenSSL security corrections.

The OpenSSL component is used by ClearCase for making SSL connections for OSLC-enabled UCM to ClearQuest. The OpenSSL component is also invoked if user supplied Perl code uses ratlperl to make SSL connections.

These vulnerabilities are not relevant for the traditional ClearCase to ClearQuest UCM integration.

Affected Products and Versions

Any supported platform.

Remediation/Fixes

Upgrade to ClearCase version

Workarounds and Mitigations

Workaround: None

Mitigation: Keep the SSL connections used for OSLC-enabled UCM between ClearCase and ClearQuest behind firewalls, and on your internal network.
