IO20648: SAYING CLOSE CASH DRAWER EVEN WITH THE CASH DRAWER CLOSED

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • We have registers saying close cash drawer even with the cash
    drawer
closed this is happening in multiple stores if you reload the
    register
this goes away I was able to get a dump of one of these
    included are
the dump, event logs, options, module level

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The basic issue appears to be that someone is
eating an interrupt. The cash drawer closes,
but we are not notified of the state change.
In both Classic and Enhanced, we rely on the
interrupt notification from the HW to know that
something is happened and we should take
    notice.

Problem conclusion

  • The receiver of the interrupts (iosub in
Enhanced) is going to be augmented with a
function that continues to check for
interrupts - but also periodically checks
the status of the cash drawer (byte 0 is
really all that is important from a status
    perspective).
