Error description
Record Manager Enabler and Content Manager 8.4. Define one item type and import certain number of items into CM. After that make the item type record-enabled. When setting "is e-record" attribute of an existing item to "aut", the operation will fail and the following error will appear in Library Server log: ICMPLSU2 TX_assignERecordAttrValue 02410 01/29 15:41:37.905 GMT ;29153649182830 f1:11efe82e33b:X7c51 ICMADMIN Input eRecord value <aut> ICMPLSU2 TX_assignERecordAttrValue 02518 01/29 15:41:37.905 GMT ;29153649182830 f1:11efe82e33b:X7c51 ICMADMIN Stmt varstmt.value <SELECT ATTR0000001106 FROM ICMADMIN.ICMUT01558001 WHERE ITEMID = ? Local fix
Manually update the "is e-record" attribute in the ICMUT table of the item type from NULL to "no."
Problem summary
This problem affects Content Manager Records Enabler. After an item type becomes record-enabled, if you attempt to update the attribute to set "is e-record" to "aut" on an item that was created before that item type became record enabled, then the update attribute operation will fail. The following error messages are shown: An error occurred while processing your request. com.ibm.mm.beans.CMBException: DGL3636A: An unexpected SQL error occurred; ICM7015: During and SQL operation in the library server, an unexpected error occurred. For details on the error, refer to the database document. (STATE) : [LS RC = 7015, SQL RC = -305] This problem does not happen on new items that are created after the item type becomes record-enabled.
Problem conclusion
This problem is fixed in DB2 Content Manager Version 8.4.2
Temporary fix
Important: Use care when performing this workaround. If you do not perform this workaround correctly, other items can be affected, causing some unexpected problems. Always back up your database before applying this workaround. In the root component table of the affected item type, manually update the "is eRecord" column of items that currently have a "NULL" value to a "no" value.
