IO07852: NO ERROR MESSAGE WHEN SETTING RESOURCE MANAGER PASSWORD FAILS

Error description

• When attempting to change the resource manager password via the
  RM properties window of the Content Manager system
  administration client, an UPDATE statement similar to the
  following is issued at the library server:
  
  UPDATE LSSCHEMA.ICMSTRESOURCEMGR SET RMPASSWORD =
  LSSCHEMA.ICMENCRYPT(CHAR(x'49795952744D673D')) WHERE
  RMCODE = 1
  
  No error message is emitted or returned if that UPDATE statement
  fails for whatever reason, such as lack of authorization to the
  ICMENCRYPT library server UDF, so the CM administrator is
  unaware that the password change did not succeed. With an
  invalid RM password, requests to the RM will fail (with
  IMW0579E Access denied, for example, on a z/OS RM).
  

Local fix

• correct the cause of the failed update statement (grant proper
  DB2 privilege to correct an authorization problem, for example)
  

Problem summary

  in failure, no error message is given to indicate the failure.
  
  Fix Description:
  Fixed in Fix Pack 8.  The error message has been improved to
  indicate the failure.
