Optimizing the Logs for a Tivoli Storage Manager version 6.x server with DSxxxx Disk. excluding DS8xxx.

Resolving The Problem
Option 1 - JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disk)
Example:
Pros: Cache readahead on disks
Cons: Single point of failure
All logs on 1 disk might be slower
Option 2 - A “Better” Layout for an IBM DSxxxx on fibre disks
RAID1 for Active Log (or Tivoli Storage Manager Active Log mirroring)
RAID1 for Archive Log
Example:
Pros: Fast fibre disk
Cache readahead on disks
RAID1 Mirror on Active Log (could also do Tivoli Storage Manager Active Log mirroring here)
RAID1 Mirror on Archive Log
Cons: All logs on 1 disk might be slower
