Updatedb - java.lang.AbstractMethodError

Troubleshooting


Problem

Maximo users may get a java.lang.AbstractMethodError while executing updatedb to update their database to any fixpack level. These errors are mostly seen when running/deploying Maximo on VMs ( Virtual Machines)

Symptom

The updatedb process will fail with errors similar to the following seen in the log:
