IJ17867: THE ASSET ACTION TO REPORT DOWNTIME IS CALCULATING INCORRECT HOURS WHEN MULTIPLE SHIFTS WITH GAPS ARE USED

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The Report Downtime of an asset is calculating the hours
    incorrectly.  This appears to be correct with 3 shifts and no
    gaps in time, however with more than 4 shifts and gaps in the
    24 hour shift spaning to the next day it is calculating
    insufficient time.
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE
    1) Navigate to Administration -> Calendars
    2) Calendar tab
    - Calendar = COMPANY2
    - Organisation = EAGLENA
    - Start date = 01/01/18
    - End date = 01/01/20
    3) Navigate to Work Periods tab
    - Under More Actions, select Define/Apply Shifts
    - There needs to be 4 Shifts in the list: "Day; Evening;
    Morning; Night"
    - Select Define Pattern, with the following data for each shift
    accordingly:
    
    DAY Shift 12am - 6am Starts SUNDAY for 7 day Pattern
    EVENING Shift 2pm - 9pm Starts SUNDAY for 7 day Pattern
    MORNING Shift 7am - 1pm Starts SUNDAY for 7 day Pattern
    NIGHT Shift 10pm -23:30 pm Starts SUNDAY for 7 day Pattern
    
    - Tick all shifts
    
    - Select Apply shifts; should receive the following system
    message: BMXAA0239I - The selected shifts were applied to the
    calendar.
    4) On Work Periods Tab, enter todays date under work date
    - This should retrieve 4 entries (Day; Evening; Morning; Night)
    5) Navigate to Assets
    - Select new Asset
    - Name asset ASS001 - Description COMPANY2
    - SEARCH FOR CALENDAR, SELECT COMPANY2
    6) Under "More Actions", select  Report Downtime
    - Check the box for Report Downtime
    - Start date = Todays date and 3pm
    - End date = Tomorrows date and 5am
    
    RESULT
    Downtime hours appears to be 6:00 hours
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS
    The Reported Downtime is showing as 6 hours,  however it should
    calculate 6+1.5+5=12.5 hours
