Error description

  • ERROR DESCRIPTION:
    PROBLEM:
    If you type an unique value in the Affected person field, an
    empty Select value dialog will be shown. If you type the same
    unique value in the field, Reported by, the fields, Reported by,
    Name and e-mail will be filled out with the data of the person.
    
    PERFORMANCE ISSUE: N/A
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    ? Go To --> Service Desk --> Service request --> Create new
    record (or open an existing one)
    ? Enter MAXADMIN in "Reported by" field and tab out
                       --> Affected person and Affected person name
    - get automatically updated
    ? Delete the "NAME" field (SR.AFFECTEDUSERNAME) and type MAX in
    the affected Person field --> Tab out
     Error message: System Message
     BMXAA3097E - The person does not exist or is not active.
    
    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
    Goto--->SR application
    
    If the Name field is not empty and you type something partially
    in the ?Affected Person? field, then the select value dialog is
    working.
    If you delete the value in the Name field and type the same
    partial value in the ?Affected Person? field, the you will get
    an empty ?select value? dialog window.
    If you select the magnifying glass and open the select value
    dialog, then all available Person data will be displayed.
    
    EXPECTED RESULT: With Name field empty if you type the partial
    value in the ?Affected Person? field it should provide a filter
    dialog.
    
    ADDITIONAL INFO: mxe.webclient.async must be set to 0 in order
    to reproduce issue as customer reports. Also, even after you do
    a Live Refresh you must log out and back in for that property to
    take affect.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix was provided to address this issue. Now, if you type an
    unique value in the Affected Person field, the Select Dialog
    will display the results accordingly.
