Error description

• Error Message: Incorrect Java long value is received. Its lower
  32-bit value is correct but its high half contains garbage.

  This problem can only happen on 31-bit Linux on Z or 31-bit z9
  or z10 platforms
  

Local fix

• This problem can be worked around using
  -Xjit:disableLongRegAllocation
  

Problem summary

• The problem happens if the JIT loads a 64-bit long value into a
  GPR and later invokes a function without saving the entire 64
  bits, resulting in a clobbered HPR.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT has been updated to avoid HPR clobbering by preserving
  all HPRs that are in use across function calls.
