Question

Which are the benefits of performing a DB2 reorganization in a TSAM environment and which are the risks?

Answer

Reorganization means that data in DB2 will be de-fragmented. Over the time the data is spread across all data pages and it's a must to do reorganization from time to time. Otherwise performance will suffer.

To setup automatic reorganization of DB's we recommend the Tivoli Provisioning Manager & Tivoli Service Automation Manager Version 7: Database Configuration and Hygiene Recommendations:
