APAR status

Error description

  • The German umlaut ?ä? is missing in the policyxml file when
opened with Text editor or XML editor on ACE V11.

Getting BIP1357E and BIP5004E while deploying the policy
project. Also, the deployment is successful with these errors
logged in event viewer.

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of App Connect Enterprise Toolkit V11 using policy in
German locale.


Platforms affected:
Linux on x86-64 platform, Windows on x86-64 platform

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The German umlaut ä is missing in the policyxml file when
opened with Text editor or XML editor on ACE V11 toolkit. It
will cause BIP1357E and BIP5004E errors during deployment of
policy project.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Corrected the policy editor so that it will save the German
character ä  for any newly created policies. Older policies need
to be recreated for it to save the character correctly.
