Troubleshooting
Problem
The help system is installed with the IBM Rational DOORS client and on the IBM Rational DOORS Web Access server. If you want help to be delivered dynamically from the information center, you can use the local help updater. The local help updater accesses updated help when it becomes available. However, in certain cases, you might not want to receive updates. The updater might produce a delay in the display of help pages. If you use an older version of the product, you might not want updates from the information center.
Symptom
When you open the help, the local help updater might display a misleading prompt:
![]()
This prompt is designed to provide help content for systems that are installed without local help. Because installations of Rational DOORS and Rational DOORS Web Access include the help system, you are never "without help." In this case, this prompt provides the following options:
- To enable the dynamic retrieval of help from the information center, click Local Help Updater.
- To continue to use the locally installed help without dynamic updates, click Work without Help. You will still have the full installed local help.
