APAR status

Error description

  • When the NIST level is set to strict, the CDSA does not start.

It fails with an error that says TLS 1.2 does not
equal TLSv1.2.

Local fix

Disable the strict NIST setting, if that is allowed by policy.

The CDSA's startup processing did not normalize the security
protocol's internal representation before the NIST "STRICT"
compliance check.  This caused the compliance check to fail,
preventing the CDSA from enabling for service.
