APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The user was upgrading a Windows operating system based virtual
system instance and noted that the instance went into an error
state after it was restarted.

The user had deployed the Windows based virtual system instance
and then used the "Check for Updates" method to apply a fix.
The instance was then restarted. As a result the
"Must_Gather_Logs-Script" role went into an error state and the
overall instance state changed to an error state.

Problem summary


    

  • The "Must Gather" scripts are specific to the operating
system on which they will run. The upgrade path was not
checking the image metadata to associate the correct
script package, and as a result the Linux version of the
"Must Gather" script package was being brought into the
Windows based image.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A code fix is being provided in the Foundation Pattern
Type version 2.1.9.0 provided with PureApplication System
and BlueMix Local System version 2.2.3.0.
