Rational DOORS Interop Server might crash when starting as non-root user

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to start IBM Rational DOORS Web Access (DWA) Interoperation Server (Interop) as a non-root user on Linux or Solaris might result in the Interop process crashing under certain circumstances.

Symptom

When you attempt to start the IBM Rational DOORS Web Access Interoperation Server (Interop), you get an error similar to this one:

./doors9: line 144: 12459 Aborted regedit -c $MWHOME/system/international.reg
./doors9: line 158: 12526 Aborted /home/doors/DOORS/bin/arch/doors.exe' -interop' '-data' '36677@localhost' '-brokerHost' 'localhost' '-brokerPort' '61616'

Interop does not start.
